Our vineyard

24 hectares of vineyards in the Lot

Chateau Camp del Saltre comprises a total of 24 hectares of vineyards, of which 16 hectares are currently planted with vines. Chateau Camp del Saltre produces AOC-certified Malbec wines from these vineyards, among other wines.

AOC stands for "Appellation d'Origine Controlee," meaning our wines have the highest classification for the Cahors wine region and meet the strict requirements of the appellation.

A piece of the Netherlands in the south of France.

Besides these red wines, Chateau Camp del Saltre also produces award-winning rosé wines and, more recently, a young, fruity Chardonnay!

The history of Chateau Camp del Saltre

The Cahors region, where our vineyard is located, is one of France's oldest wine regions, and wine has been produced there since Roman times. The typical Malbec wines are known for their beautiful, full-bodied reds.

The Château Camp del Saltre estate once belonged to the influential Cavaillacs de Borie family and was later acquired in the 19th century by the Delbru family, who continued the winemaking tradition with great passion and craftsmanship. For over 100 years, the Delbrus have perpetuated this winemaking tradition and passed their knowledge down through the generations. Gerard Delbru, the youngest member of the family and now 70 years old, still works in our vineyard.

The vineyard may be too busy for a tasting (without a reservation). Therefore, we always recommend contacting us in advance to book a wine tasting.
