The lottery ticket is a plot with a forgotten grape variety, the Ségalin. It's a cross between the Jurançon Noir and the Portugais Bleu, the latter of which, to complete the confusion, likely originated in Austria.

Are you still with us? Great. Because the red this cabinet of curiosities produces is truly something. Sultry, velvety, a liquid purple. Ripe blackberries, dark cherries, a shot of berry liqueur, violets, and suede tannins. It reminds us a bit of a good petit verdot. It's a compliment.
