White wine, a rarity in Cahors. Yet, winemakers Patrick Banis and Gérard Delbru have taken the plunge. And with good reason! The result is a rare but excellent Chardonnay/Viognier blend. The wine has been lightly aged in oak and is fresh, slightly complex, and creamy. It is described as thirst-quenching with a light elderberry flavor that lingers on the palate. Le Saltre Blanc is perfect as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to sushi or light curry dishes.

Le Saltre Blanc from an estate in Cahors. And then they also make it white? Yes, from Chardonnay, which can only be called Lot, a lowly IGP. But this Le Saltre Blanc doesn't behave that way. It boasts exotic fruit, juggles vanilla pods, and displays polished curves. A well-groomed Saltre.
